Who we are

Holidog is for dogs needing a comfortable and friendly place to stay while
their owners are away or cannot cope with their pet for a short period of time.

Sammy

After losing Poppy our Dalmatian in 2005, Pippa our Labrador in October 2006,
and Sammy our cat in September 2007, we decided not to have any more pets
of our own, but to look after our friends' dogs when they were ill or away.
We found this very rewarding as we got to experience having pets around
the house once more. Which we had greatly missed.
So we came up with 'holidog', mentioned it to our friends
and the word soon got around!

We started 'holidog' in October 2007.
Finnigan a male Golden Retriever, or Finn as he likes to be called was our first border, along with our neighbour's dog Sheba, a female Golden Retriever!
Since then we have had many different dogs visiting us.
We live in a cottage on the large Colehayes Estate which is 3/4 mile
down a private road from the main Haytor Road.
We have a large safe back garden, enclosed by a wall around three sides
and a fence dividing us from our neighbour's garden.
We take lots of photos while they are staying with us, make a photo cd of them
and write a daily diary of everything that they did
so that you can see what a wonderful time they had.

Here are some of the photos taken of our happy 'holidog' dogs and their friends.

'Where did I put my sunglasses?'

'Don't tell Dad I've got his hat on!'

'Where are we going today?'

'Ohhh that was nice!'

Zed and a very wet Sheba!

Sheba loves the water! 'I'm a mermaid!' Finn enjoying the sunshine
'I carried all these stones up on my own!' Sheba in the woods at Parke 'Gosh... I'm tired'
'I found a friend' We had fun in the water. 'Now where am I ?
'We're ready and waiting' Is that my shadow?' Jimmy
